LCD monitor

Guys,

I would like to hear suggestions. I'd like to purchase an LCD monitor in the very near future.

Something either 17" or 19", something good and with decent prices (if there's such a thing as a decent prices)

Any suggestions will be taken...

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

If you search, there are lots of threads that have many many suggestions..

the consensus is the Hitachi 174B, 17" monitor with 16ms response rate. Otherwise, it really isn't worth getting an LCD monitor just yet as companies and really starting to ramp up production (and quaility) this year so prices will hopefully drop.

The 17" hitachi with 16ms responce time is called the CML174SX(W for ivory, WB for carbon).
I have one, you wont regret getting one if you do.

Unless you are a hardcore gamer, most people seem to enjoy their Dell 1900FP/Samsung 191T monitors. They are 19" LCD's with decent response times. I have the 191T and I love it. I probably won't upgrade until I'm out of school, the display quality is great for what I do, mainly sitting around writing perl and c++ code. Movies look good on it, the only beef I have is 1280x960 resolution on it doesn't look that great, and some older games ghost somewhat.

1280x960 isn't the correct resolution for a LCD! Its a CRT resolution (as i recently found out) Try 1280x1024!

Half-life/cs doesn't support 1280x1024, thats why I have to use 1280x960, I use the native 1280x1024 for my desktop though. And 1280x960 could be an LCD resolution, it just isn't used for some reason. I haven't measured, but my LCD looks 4:3 to me, I don't know why they don't use that amount of pixels. It would make them cheaper too.
