LCD monitor vs LCD TV: what offers the best performance and overall viewing experience per dollar?

USES:
Multipurpose functioning: HTPC (mostly DVD, nonHD cable TV), gaming, word processing, internet

LIMITATION:
- studio apt, therefore LCD device
- price: upper limit $1400

DISPLAYS CONSIDERED: (prefer larger)
- Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW 20" $600
- Apple 20" Cinema Display $800
- Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24" $1200
- Olevia 27" LCD TV (LT27HV) $700-800
- Olevia 32" LCD TV (LT32HV) $1400

OTHER:
- Loss of image quality with larger displays from interpolation (esp TV cable viewing)?
- Other display recommendations welcome

If you don't mind the 3-inch silver borders of the 27" olevia and you sit at least 3 to 4 feet away from it, then the lt27hv would be the best display for a primarily htpc setup.

No need to worry of you getting nearsighted anymore.
