The monitor is a 22" TN panel Horizon 2206SW and started making problems a week ago. After I would start the PC it took some time for the monitor to power up. The power led would flicker like it was in stand-by and I'm hearing coil while coming from the back of the display. The problem is getting progressively worse, at first it took 1-2 seconds to get picture but now it takes quite a while. There is no flickering or artefacts, picture is crystal-clear and pops up instantly. It only happens after the PC has been off enough time for the monitor to cool down.

It's a good monitor and I'd hate to replace it. :(

So it is the entire monitor that takes longer to power up, not jsut the backlight?

Yes the entire monitor. VIper is right, it was the power source's caps.

Fixed it.
