Been thinking about finally upgrading my monitor lately. Currently have a 19" viewsonic PS790 CRT that ive had forever. Definitely not an expert on LCD monitors. I do alot of gaming, as well as multimedia(maya, photoshop, dvd movies etc). My friend recommended this one ViewSonic VX924
The only thing I dont like, is it doesnt go above 1280x1024. Thats also a little more on the expensive side. Another monitor I looked at was this one SCEPTRE X9G-NAGA
In terms of gaming. What should I be looking for in an LCD.
One question I have is, dont LCD's max out at around 85hz? So does that mean you cant have more than 85 fps in games? I can do like 150hz at 800x600 on my current monitor, which means 150 fps. Or I guess that would only be with Vsync enabled? Also, I noticed some LCDS have 800:1 contrast ratio. The one I linked above is only 500:1. Should I care about that? Thanks. Any help would be great.
