lcd monitor question

I just got a KDS Rad-5 LCD monitor. Its native resolution is 1024x768. Anyways, I loaded up StarCraft & Half-Life on it and those games are run at 640x480 for me. I noticed these lines going from the bottom left to top-right corner of the screen. Is that normal if the game isn't run in the native resolution?

I am not so sure about the lines, and I have a Rad-5 on the PC behind me. You will get image degradation when not running 1024x768 @ 60Hz.

Also, sometimes when I look really closely, I can see these really faint lines in Windows. Is that normal?

i dont see anything like that on my viewsonic vg181. i run games at other than native resolution (1280 x 1024) as well. hard to tell if that would be the video card or monitor.
just some info, it must be your particular setup
