LCD Monitor Question

I am in the market for a new LCD monitor and this one has caught my eye.

http://www.benq.com/display/lcd_fp951.html
Benq FP951
250 cd/m2 High Brightness
700:1 Ultrahigh Contrast Ratio
25ms Response time
DVI Interface

The high contrast ratio and DVI interface looks appealing but the 25 ms response time worries me as I occasionally play games and watch movies on the computer. But the high contrast ratio should be better at digital photo viewing and editing right? Btw, how is Benq?s reputation as an LCD manufacturer?

I also have the option of buying the 17 inch Samsung 172X with 12MS response time but a notch lower contrast ratio of 500:1

So what do you think guys? Which one should I buy? I am confused.

i would take those numbers with a grain of salt. those specs are left up to the mfr.
and there is no 'standard' measure. they can basically make up any number they wish.

from what i've seen, the benq screens are only marginally cheaper than comparable ones from samsung. i've been watching the prices of the 19" lcd's and here in canada the benq ones are $785, while the samsungs are $835 or so. to me it's worth the $50 to get a more reputable brand name.

25ms is more than adequate for gaming and movies btw, although others will disagree with me on that i'm sure. my 17" samsung 171s is 25ms and i can't notice any ghosthing whatsoever.
