LCD monitor problem, screen blacks out after 5 secs turning on

My LCD mon (AG Neovo S-17 Monitor) blacks out after I turned it on after 5 seconds.
Is it possible be the external power adapter fault for something like this to occur?
The monitor starting to act weird after my home has a power outage.
I really don't want to RMA, shipping 30lbs is really expensive.
