Greetings, All:
I was wondering if any of you know of any reasonably recent online (or in-print) test reports or "shootouts" done on 20"/21" LCD monitors. I found out today from the associate editor at CNET.com that the pixel-response time specs that manufacturers cite are not really worth much. Seems there is no industry-required protocol for testing this spec, so many companies test differently than others and come up with numbers that can be either very indicative of overall pixel performance or not at all. Obviously, this means we can't compare specs from one brand to another or get more than a vague idea of the performance we can expect. :-(
This being the case, all shoppers can really do is look for test reports on monitors they're interested in and hope that the pixel response times were tested & evaluated accurately. So do any of you know of any current tests of a group of 20"/21" monitors? (This is the only size I'm interested in.) I could scour the Web looking for some, but thought it might be quicker to post the question here. I've been amazed on more than one occasion by the things you guys come up with sometimes.
Incidentally, I'm very familiar with the age-old issue of CRTs having better video response performance than LCDs. I'd prefer not to revisit that issue with this thread; I'd prefer to stick to the issue I'm particularly interested in. Thanks.
Ken
