Don't use alcohol. Spray some glass cleaner on a rag and gently (take it easy) wipe the areas with the smudges. In the future try to keep your fingers off the screen if possible they seem kind of fragile.

DO NOT USE GLASS CLEANER, most of them contain ammonia. I personally use a micro-fiber cloth, and if the mark wont come off with that I use 91 % isopropyl alcohol. I have read online that LCD's are cleaned with alcohol before they leave the factory. I have e-mailed Viewsonic (the maker of my LCD) and they said that occassional use of alcohol is OK, but ammonia based cleaners are not. Ammonia will strip the coating off.

yeah there was no way i'd use class cleaner as most of them have both alcohol AND ammonia....

I guess i'll get a rubbing alcohol with a high concentration of isopropyl alc.

Most glass cleaners that are not on the cheap side no longer contain ammonia. I'd go with one of those if you cant get it off with the cloth suggested above :)
There's alot of glass cleaners that i use for my car windows that dont contain ammonia due to tint on car's turning purple with ammonia exposure. Good luck.

I use "Glass Plus". The label says that it contains no amonia or phophates. It says the active ingredients are biodegradeable cleaning agents, water, and fragrance.

You can buy it at wal-mart, ect..
