Has anybody else who has a lcd monitor experience little clicking noises once in a while when the monitor is off?
I have a Sony 17" and everytime I turn it off, it makes little noises about once every five minutes then goes away after a while.
The monitor works fine....I was just wondering if this noise is normal.

The power brick for my Sony LCD also makes noises, but it's a high pitched tone... It's strange if you listen for it. I don't know if this is the same kind of problem as you're having, but it's defintely annoying, and I can't get rid of it.

Many LCD monitors have built in speakers - make sure they are disconnected. The click could be coming from your audio system. Is the power truly OFF or is it on "standby?"

Why not put it on the floor out of the way - under something - you should never hear it there. :)

But it looks so nice next to my mouse! No way would I put it on the floor.

Now seriously, dude, where do you think I have it?

Mine doesn't have built-in speakers. The sound is overly loud, but can be annoying sometimes.
It only makes the sound when i press the power button off but doesn't seem to do it when it is on standby.

OK - that sounds like the click of a power on/off relay. Sort of strange in that environment. I turn my LCD monitor on before turning on the computer's power relay switch. No sound at all. Have asked Sony abount it?

OK - the power brick is a small transformer - and apparently yours makes a noise. I've never heard one do that - if it can be replaced, then that is a good thing to do. Or . . . (not being facetious) put it in a small box with foam inside - should deaden all the sound.

I have a feeling its your power source. if it makes a sound while your monitor is unplugged(not just off), then you have a completely different problem.
