I have had an LCD monitor for a long while now, and recently it just hasnt been working with my computer. It works fine when I plug it into my dad's laptop, but its almost as if my computer suddenly doesnt like the dual monitor setup. My primary 22" CRT monitor works fine, but the power LED for my LCD just flashes on and off when its plugged into the computer (it seems to be able to stay on when its not plugged in however).

I have a 550watt antec PSU and an 8800ultra video card, so I would think its getting enough power. What other things could make this happen? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Maybe your LCD requires a DVI as opposed to analog connection? Some LCDs can handle both, but they are equipped with separate connectors and cables.

It came with an analog connector, but the 8800 doesnt have an analog input so I have to use an analog -> DVI adaptor. Its just strange because it was working with this exact computer for at least a month.

Could be the adapter has failed. Adapters are not am good way to go over the long haul. What kind of LCD does not have a DVI output? How does it do without the dual monitor setup, ie.e, by itself as a single monitor?

Again, . . .what make and model of LCD is this?

Have you tried totally uninstalling the monitor drivers and then starting over with "find new hardware?"

Its a Proview PL926wsi

This monitor didnt seem to come with any specific drivers as it didnt come with any CD. Although I did find a driver dl link on their site, but the downloaded driver has no file extension and when I tried renaming it to .exe it just extracted about 7 .icm files (have no clue what filetype that is).

EDIT: I managed to figure it all out and update the drivers, still no go however =[

OK - according to the ProView specs for this model, it only has a analog signal input. That means you need to connect it to the normal VGA out port on your video card.

The 8800ultra (which I am using) has no analog port, only DVI, which is why I am using the analog -> DVI adaptor that came with the card:

It has worked fine in the past with this exact computer, it just doesnt seem to want to work with it anymore. When its plugged into the computer, the computer sees it just fine and I can even enable dual monitor or switch to it entirely. However, nothing displays on it and the power LED just flashes on and off. It works fine with my dads laptop though, which makes no sense to me. It also works for a short while on my own computer after I had plugged it into my dads laptop (usually only a couple minutes before it goes back out).

Quick bump with additional info:
If I turn my computer off, the power LED stops blinking and the screen comes on and says "No signal" like it should, then when I turn the computer back on the power LED goes right back to blinking.

As far as I can tell the screen does momentarily blink on (not even for a split second) each time the LED blinks on.
