LCD monitor for gaming

HI,

I'm planning to purchase a LCD monitor for gaming and Xbox 360/PS3 . I have my attention on Dell SP 2208WFP 22" and Dell E248WFP 24".

1) Please suggest me which one should I get
2) Is there any other alternatives(at the same price range) from any other brands like LG, Viewsonic etc?
 
There's a HHHUUUGGGEEE thread over in the video cards and graphics forum on LCDs. There's a wealth of info on there. I would just make sure that your monitor does 1:1 pixel mapping. If it doesn't, then your XBOX/PS3 will be vertically stretched from its 16:9 aspect ratio to the 16:10 aspect ratio of widescreen computer monitors. What you want are little black bars on the top and bottom that allow you to maintain the correct aspect ratio, and not all monitors do that.
