LCD monitor flickers?

Sometimes if I view a page with lots dots or wireframes that have high contracts without the background, the image would flicker when I scroll that page up and down, and the flicker rate seems proportional to how fast they move. I don't think this is the smearing caused by slow response time. Anyone know what's going on?

Hmm...mine flickers as well. I have a 25 ms response time on this thing...something lower (like 8 ms) should make it better I think.

I have done similar testing on the 2ms ViewSonic LCD and it flickers too. So I am wondering if it's due to the response time or not.

yep my 8ms viewsonic VX2025wm has that "flicker" there on those spots. I'll be it has something to do with the LCDs - does it do it on a CRT?

It should to a certain extent on a CRT too (more on higher refresh rates?)

I just went to those sites, and I experienced no "flicker"....I just bought a brand new LG1732TQ with a response rate of 4ms and a contrast ratio of 1400:1...my god! this thing is fabulous! I wont go back to my 19in CRT for anything....no dead pixels, no issues at all! I must say I am glad I waited until now to get one...I bought one for my wife last week and saw how nice it was and had to get one for myself...lol!
