The past couple of days my monitor has been going blank and when starting the computer, it says Optimum Resolution not set, 1280x1024. Well today I think the monitor crapped out. I tried unplugging it and installing new Cat drivers for X1650XT, but now it only can display in 800x600 max. Options are there to set 1280x1024, but then the screen blanks and then it reverts back to 800x600. I have also hooked up my LCDTV a Samsung 940MW to the video card and it was detected fine at 1440x900. I have used two different VGA cables, one to connect to the X1650XT and one to connect to the laptop. I also hooked up the 940MW with one of the VGA cables and that worked fine. After I reinstalled the new video drivers, I reinstalled the monitor driver and it was detected correctly.

Here's the thing. I hooked up the monitor to a laptop with Geforce Go 7400 and I'm seeing the same thing. I can get it to display at 800x600 but anything higher and it goes blank. This is a Samsung 710N that I bought in March 05 with the same manufacture date. Is the monitor screwed or what?
