lcd is producing strange horizontal lines

OK. This is a laptop system. The lines sometimes flicker. Sometimes you are completely unable to see the bottom 1/3 of the screen (as in the picture). Othertimes you just have a few lines that interfere a bit. Other times the display is fine. If you flex the LCD just a little usually the lines go away instantly. Is this the inverter, the lamp, the lcd itself, the video card???

I figure with the picture someone who has seen this before can tell me with certainty what the issue is.

I'm no expert on LCD's... but in the units I've seen similar problems occur in, its usually a logic board issue, or a ribbon cable that is crimped or cracking. My recommendation.. order a new LCD panel / assembly.

But don't take my word for it, like I said I'm no expert... I'd wait for a few more replies to this thread first.

I second that, though I suggest first opening the top and examining the ribbon cable and pulling then reinserting it in the connector if one is present on that end.
