lcd is crazy

this lappy has the top 2/3 working fine the bottum 1/3 is vertical colored lines,is this
a fixable problem?
stuck out ,please offer your fixes if any.

Lines usually indicate a failing cable or display, is the system overheating? Can you provide a pic so we can better understand what the lines look like?
