I recently bought a 2001FP and noticed interference fringes whenever the image is in motion, such as a video, or when my eyes are in motion. This phenomenon is mostannoying when it comes to games or movies because things are constantly in motion. These interference fringes are very lightly rainbow colored, diagonal criss-crossing in pattern and most visible over lightly colored surfaces.
The eaiset way for me to noitce these diagonal criss-crossing finges are when I sit in front of a light aqua wallpaper and pull my head back and forth while focusing my eyes on one part of the screen. Or I can open My Computer and drag the window around while focusing my eyes on the light blue part of the borders.
I went to my local Fry's Electronics and noticed this thing on a number of other LCD displays as well. The ones that did not have it were laptop displays, X-Brite displays, small 15" dispays or very large 24"+ displays. Most of the mid-range displays from 17" to 20"'s seemed to have this diagonal criss-cross interference pattern.
The even stranger thing is that after a while of leaving the display on (starting at 30 minutes), the fingers start to become less noticable. After 1 hour, they are barely seen and after 1 1/2 hours, I don't even see them at all. There must be some kind of burn in thats taking place causing these fringes to disappear. Powering off the display and turning it back resets these fringes to their maximum visibilty.
You have to be within a foot of noticing this, and its most noticable after you power on your display over lightly colored surfaces. It can be see either by moving your head forward and back or moving the something on the display.
Does anyone notice this and what causes these things?
