LCD: How to test for dead pixels and backlight leakage?

i just received my new 2001fp. i've read some of them have dead pixels and leakage.

what is backlight leakage, and how can i tell.

also, is there a way to test for dead pixels? (i dont see any using the default winXP wallpaper.)

For dead pixles test on an all black screen, and then on all white, if you don't notice anything with either of these (IE green blue or red stuck on, or black pixels on the white background) then you should be fine as far as dead pixels go. As far sa backlight leakage, I believe they mean that you would essentially get discoloration because of too much light in a certain spot.
