Personally I would get a DLP for the living room but for your dad I would get the Bravia. However, I think some of the Bravias wont work in 1080p with the Xbox360. I know someone with a 42" Bravia & it wouldnt work with 1080p on the xbox360 even though his tv is 1080p capable.
