Lcd good enough for gaming?

DVI is supposedly sharper but you really won't see the difference on a 17 incher. DVI is necessary on those 42" LCD TVs, plasmas, and the like.

I have a 19 inch, 16ms, non-DVI LCD and it works great for HL2 and NFSU2.

yuoll see the difference if 2 lcds are side by side and 1 isn't dvi. but really, for most, vga is fine. 12 ms will work.

I am happy with my Dell E173FP 17". It is 16ms and I have played through several games including Doom 3 and HL2 and have not noticed any ghosting. My LCD is also non-DVI. I noticed a big difference in quality by going through the DVI output on my video card through a DVI-VGA adapter versus using the native VGA output. I use a Dell 1703FP at work which is the higher end unit that has DVI and I seriously cannot tell any difference between the two.
