LCD glitch/problem

I have a 3-year old Viewsonic LCD monitor that started exhibiting some strange symptoms recently. And wouldn't you know it, my warranty just expired.

I took a video capture here:

Does it look hosed? I've tried connecting it to different PCs, using VGA / DVI cables to narrow the problem down to the monitor.

Change the frequency of the monitor. If adjusting settings doesn't help then you have a problem. If you havn't tried it yet try using differnt cables. If that doesn't help you need a new monitor.

I would definitely buy a new cable, before I bought a new monitor. That looks alot like what a bad cable can do.

Sorry, I meant to imply that I have tried different video cables (both DVI & VGA).

I have a Dell 2008WFP now connected via DVI cable. I'll try this exact same cable on the VP201b. If the problem still occurs, safe to say that the monitor's the problem?

Just tried couple different DVI cables, and definitely looks like a problem with the monitor. 🙁

Which is a real shame coz the colors on the Viewsonic are much better than my Dell...

Could there be some 'quick fix' for this problem? I don't even know how to describe this problem so I don't know what to Google. What would you call it?

I don't understand why, but the Viewsonic has been working fine since waking up from sleep mode today.

Yesterday, it wasn't working properly.

The problem appears to be so random that I don't know how to narrow down the cause(s).

I guess I'll keep using it until the other half of the monitor goes as well.
