The Models at sam's and costco are special and difficult to compare to the models rated by most sites. Even Sony's web site doesn't list them.

Any one have any comments on how they compare. You usually can't beat the price.

Since when is Sony considered a disposable TV. If you are going to post something

1) Make sure it on topic
2) Make sure it isn't 2 years old as electronics change a lot in 18-24 months.
3) Don't post a link with no words 27,314 times.

To the OP, if you can find a part number that is similar on the manufacturers website then I'd go with that. For example if the Sony was a V4102 in the store and the website has V4100, S4100, etc. I'd compare it to the V4100

I didn't say earlier but I had done some comparison of the specs on the sam's club site and those of similiar models on the Sony site. They seem to be comparable to the low end units on the sony site, which is to be expected. My question was whether anyone new if these were just cosmetic differences and changes in model numbers or were they somehow inferior to the low end models that each brand sells to other retailers.

should be the same low end model. Sam's, Costco, Wal-Mart versions of brand names.

If you want a Pioneer Kuro or Sony XBR, you won't find them at these stores.
(Maybe Circuit City 😉 )

In my limited experience low end Sony's and the Vizio's sold at Sam's / Costco have roughly the same PQ and AQ
