This LCD (Sharp LL-191A-B) is not new, used to show the text in the "DOS" modes (bios and hardware info, before windows startups) now it does not. I just reloaded XP and could barely read the screens, progressivly got worse, now can't read em at all, once I get into XP it is flawless however.

This is a epox 8rda+ (nforce2) with nvidia geforce 3 ti200, old reliable hardware that used to work.

Any ideas on how to restore the LCD monitor to it's old readable self?

Does your LCD have an autoadjust button/feature. While in dos mode, hit that feature and it should display properly.

I'm having the same problem with a Samsung 191T, only when I press the auto adjust button, it says "locked". However, I can see BIOS screens just fine, but only because I remember what keys to push to get into the bios. I've updated the driver for monitor & AGP card, tried everything else I can think of with no luck. I can see it fine if i hook up a CRT. I'm connected using a dvi cable from the DVI out of my 9800 Pro. Any other ideas?

I've seen some cases where the PC doesn't display POST/BIOS screens on a DVI connection. Try it the VGA connection from the video card and see what happens - not to say that this is a fix since DVI is preferable for Windows/Gaming, but it's a troubleshooting step to at least be able to get to the BIOS.
