lcd extraction from original chassis for rebuild

does anyone know if enthusiasts are taking apart original chassis to minimize the gap between multiple monitor support, and rebuilding new chassis' for them?

I don't like monitors having gaps between each other in image.

any ideas appreciated, thx.
