LCD / DVI question

Hi, I'm in the market for an LCD soon, and I love the look and reviews of Dell LCDs.

Question to experts: What are the key important features and why?

-dot pitch
-contrast ratio
-response time
And especially DVI. Does it make any noticeable difference? Cause that 17" LCD (non ultrasharp) at $280 tempted me, but it had analog not DVI connector so I hesitate...

And what happens if you have dead pixels on arrival, will they replace it or usually no? Seems risky if they don't...

edit: Forgot to ask about Native resolution. I hear that LCDs often work 'best' at their native resolutions, that true?

I just ordered the Dell 2001FP 20.1" LCD monitor directly from Dell. Once I receive it, I will post back on how it performs =]

EDIT: I will be receiving it in a few days.

Yes, it is best that LCDs work best at their native resolutions. As for the contrast ratio of the Dell LCDs, their color isn't really that impressive, but it boasts a great response time to make up for it.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I just got the monitor today. Someone stole the original one, and I finally called up Dell, and they told me that they had shipped it out, but it never arrived to the carrier. But, dell sent a brand new one via overnight shipping and here it is.

To tell you the truth, this is the best monitor I have ever used. It is crystal clear, it came with no dead/stuck-on pixels, and it is just all around awesome.

Now sometimes, you hear people complain about ghosting. So far, I haven't notice any ghosting whatsoever. It is absolutely perfect.

The monitor has a very, VERY clear picture and it also is shows the colors perfectly. In fast, the picture is so clear, it looks like I am looking at an actual painted picture.

If you are in the market for a new LCD montitor, I recommend the Dell Ultrasharp 2001FP 20.1" monitor. It is on sale now, 25% off($169.80 USD,) and it is $850.00 without the discount. With the 25% off, it is $679.20.

I hope this helps.

UPS was the shipping company that stole m y first one =[ FedEX is much better and faster.

I wouldn't doubt it. I HATE UPS. They delivery crap to my house at like 7-9 PM every damn time. It REALLY annoying. Fedex does at like noon.... sooo sweet I love Fedex

So far I must say this monitor is AMAZING. no dead pixels and BEAUTIFUL. I have been watching the Sox game on it all night and played a little bit of CS:Source too. I still have to do HW though so I have to keep it short for now.
