Here's the story:
(VGA card is FX5200 128mb 64bit version)
First of all, I got this Samsung 226BW monitor. When it was on DVI, I could see the boot up screen and everything was fine until it hits resolution more than 1280x960.
I tried changing the driver but it just didn't work.
Before solving that problem, I replaced that 226BW to LG L226WA not because I couldn't find soultion for that DVI problem but because that 226BW happened to be that dreadful "C" pannel.
Anyway, on this 226WA, when using DVI connection, I don't even see the boot up screen.
It's just blank although it's forced to be in Stanby or power saving mode
(In some cases, I know that Nvidia card forces that to happen and that it can be fixed by using DVI-reset program.)
(EDIT: It does go into power-saving mode after 5 seconds or so)
I thought the problem was on the DVI port on VGA card.
However, I realized that I had that DVI-to-D-sub adapter. So I put that adapter on the DVI port of the VGA card and connected it through D-sub cable on the monitor.
It works fine which means DVI port on VGA card is okay!
Given that, I'm thinking it probably is the monitor's DVI port not working properly.
Or, am I right? Is there anything else that I can try??
(EDIT: When the LCD is connected to VGA card's DVI although not in use,
I know that the computer detects LCD's DVI connection as I see 1. LG L226WA Analog 2. LG L226WA Digital in monitor config setup)
