LCD Decision: 1800FP vs Samsung172N + $100

My friend is willing to trade his Samsung 172N 17 inch lcd for my Dell 1800FP 18.1 inch lcd along with $100 to compensate for the difference. Would it be a good trade? I like to watch movies and play lots of games with my Radeon 9800 pro so ghosting/tearing/bleeding is an issue. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the Samsung. Any advice?
