**UPDATE**
A powerful videocam light shined on the surface revealed it was indeed some kind of dried micro-snot on the screen. Another dose of klearscreen and it came off. whew...
now to find a way to delete my own posts 🙂

I just noticed what "looks" like a dead pixel near the center of my 6mo old dell 2001fp lcd monitor. However, when i line any small detail up behind it (such as a text character or distint image feature) and move my head from side to side I can see parallax. In other words, if I put the offending pixel dead center inside a lower case "o' typed on a while backround and then look at it from the far left or right the black dot is now OUTSIDE the "o". Could this still be a dead pixel, or is it something else. I tired gently cleaning the area with a mf cloth and klear-screen..but from what I can tell its NOT on the surface.
Thanks,
m
