It's fast and being IPS will offer best color, view angles and has every feature like hardware scaling. Even has up to 85Hz for less tearing and faster input but it may knock it down internally..I don't know.

This looks very interesting. The description specifically says that it does 120khz horizontal over DVI, but single link DVI can't go nearly that far. It may be capable of using a dual link DVI connection to get 85hz at that resolution.

It seems remarkably bulky for an LCD though, at least 2" deep. I wonder if there is any particular reason for that.

if u decide on 22 inch then the samsung 226BW looks to be the winner for about $390.... 2 ms response and 3000 Contrast ratio..
Newegg doesnt have it yet, while zipzoomfly has it on back order, circuitcity also is out of it .... for 380....

this is because this monitor just came out.... new model

i say dell because ao4s are apparently shipping now from ebay, dell.com and via phone through dell.

does 1:1 and fixes most (if not all - not too sure) of the a03 problems...

i dont think you need hdmi, because you can get a dvi-hdmi adapter and it does the same thing, just doesnt pass sound obviously. you dont need to pass sound to a monitor...thats silly.

Been checking Hard forums, and seems like shipments in the US are mainly A04. Guess dell got tired of paying the 30ln shipping fees from A03 returns...

Now why the eff has Dell stopped listing the 2407 in Canada...

Good to know that the A04s are finally shipping. I was set on a 2407 a couple of months ago, but with the nearly universal praise of the 20WMGX2 and with the FP241WZ now available, I'm having anything but an easy time choosing one. :(

The 22's are out because they are TNs and have a larger dot pitch. And there seems to be some kind of issue with each of the 24" displays. The 20WMGX2 is absoflippinlutely gorgeous but I hate to pay that much for a 20" wide when I already have a 20.1" S-IPS.

They probably hid it because

it is on sale for $749

Still not as good a price as the $699 it was before Christmas.

For effs sake. Dang it, dang it. Just grew a brain and used the search earlier, found it for $849, but just found out I missed the sale...

Yep, I remember it was $685 around Boxing Day, though I was more interested in the E228 at the time. Oh well, they'll put it on sale again sometime. Still got my 10% coupon from signing up for spam.

I just bought this
which is similar to the Viewsonic you posted, except it doesn't have the iPod dock (stupid idea, in my opinion. It's just for show. Why would you want a dock on your monitor? Your computer is right there! Just plug it in.) and it doesn't have the USB ports. It's also cheaper.

I'm very excited. It'll arrive next week.

Do you mean you got a 10% coupon from Dell Canada for signing up for they weekly promo e-mail?

I have been subscribed to this for months, but never got any coupon for additional discount. Only the promo pricing.

In fact, everybody but me seems to have a 10% or 15% Dell coupon and I would like to know where to get them. I don't want to buy one on E-Bay though.

Don't forget I am asking about coupons valid on the Dell Canadian web site

You could try naughtycodes.com - they have some discounts for Dell Canada, though I don't see anything specific as far as 10% (though something that says $40 off flat panels).

Yep, that's the one. Hmmm... if you said a couple weeks, I'd say wait longer, but for months, you definately should have got it by now. I thought they screwed it up and forgot to e-mail me my code, then it came about a month after signing up. If you really want the discount bad, try making your next order by phone. I hear some people who signed up for the 10% discount the day they bought something, obviously didn't get the code, and then spoke to a sales rep. who gave them the discount. Double check all your spamilicious Dell e-mais too, it came in a 'Welcome to Dell' or something I think.

The thing is that whatever I do, I now seem unable to get promo e-mails from Dell. I keep subscribing but I have not gotten an e-mail from them in weeks.

EDIT: Just found out in my older messages that my original subscription to Dell e-mail promos was Oct 24 2006

I am using an Hotmail account for this and have checked junk mail filters: everything seems to be in order. I also subscribe to the weekly e-mail newsletter from NCIX.com, but it has also stopped coming in for some time.

I have probably missed the Dell coupon because the message was somehow blocked by Homail, but I can't find anything wrong with my Hotmail settings.

I realize I am way off-topic here, so this is my last question on this subject. If anyone has an explanation, I would appreciate it.

Agree, this is a very good monitor for the price. The 24" Dell is also very good if you have the budget, but 22" is a real sweet spot at the moment.

I had the Gateway 24" it was nice, but for the price it didn't cut it, I've used the Dell also and I honestly didn't find it much better (if any) Sold the Gateway and got a 21" IBM CRT with a Trintron tube.

goodbye LCD and GOOD RIDDANCE!

but as far as LCD's go I didn't have any issues with my Gateway.
