Ok... I've read a dozen topics over it, but so many different answers surfaced. Soooo... I figured I'd get a few up-to-date thoughts on the topic in a new post. It may seem redundant, but hey... people like to voice their opinions every chance they get. :)

I'll be doing a lot of work like Flash, Photoshop, audio and video editing with a tiny bit of Maya. Little to no gaming on this one, as I usually stick with my old CRT for games anyway.

This is a "just for home" monitor, so I'm only springing for a 17" and hoping to spend around $500 or so. I'm definitely not busting out $650 or more on this, 'cause I also need to upgrade my tower. Also, I'd like to stay away from speakers...

So, any comments? A huge thanks in advance!

IIRC, 17" LCDs don't have the best color reproduction (particularly the 16ms ones, which can only show 18bit color, rather than the usual 24bit on a CRT). If that's important to you, look to 18" and above. I may be wrong, though.
