Anyone ever had, or heard of these?

Someone at work was talking about them last week, and I just saw they're having a memorial day sale. It strikes me as somewhat unhealthy to take a sleep inducing sedative with a large amount of sugar & carbs, but I'm nevertheless intrigued. Apparently the government is working on banning them, and the media is currently aligning against them a la FourLoko.

the FAQ says they are chock full of melatonin. so...not exactly

Split one with my gf a few months back. Not bad, got very sleepy within ~30min (ate it at about 7pm), then slept all night until about 8am. Woke up and didn't have any residual tiredness. I wouldn't pay $5 for them on a regular basis but I could see eating one again.

Sugar + melatonin, what's the point? The melatonin will be more effective without the sugar.

If you're intrigued by melatonin then just buy a bottle of pills from your local pharmacy. You only need to take a fraction of a milligram to have an effect.

There's also some literature that suggests that too much melatonin decreases its effects too.

Not bad. I've only seen them at one shop near me and they never have sales. Though melatonin is only about $1 per 100mg so from that perspective there is a massive mark up.

That might be true if you were just purchasing melatonin, but let's not forget you're getting a brownie that a lot of people are saying is delicious.

That's true. I was very surprised by the brownie, usually with stuff like this its almost inedible but it was pretty tasty. Even my gf, who is an avid baker who doesn't like brownies (not a huge chocolate fan), commented on how she thought it was one of the better brownies she's had.

So did you buy one?
