I always take my cart back. :)

I also let people pull out of their spots even when I don't plan on taking it when they are out. :Q

I was letting a car out one day so that I could grab the place. As the man was pulling out an older couple pulled up behind me. Even though I had been patiently waiting on the spot I let the older couple have it.

Ditto. By the time you get the coveted "close in" spot via endless circling or camping on someone who appears to be leaving, you could have parked further away and walked into the store/theater/wherever you are.
I agree. My wife used to be a 'camper' until I talked to her about it one day.

Me..."What are you doing?"
Her..."Waiting for these people to leave."
Me..."Why?"
Her..."So we can get their spot."
Me..."There's a spot right there" - points to open spot 20 feet away
Her..."This ones closer."
Me..."So we're going to sit here and wait for these people to leave so you have to take 10 fewer steps to get into the store?"
Her...pulls forward and parks in open spot after thinking for a few seconds

It always pays to be courteous while driving / parking etc, because you never know who you might have just cut off, nearly hit, etc.

Same applies for the parking lot, because if you screw someone over in the parking lot chances are they are heading to the same establishment as you are. Be nice :).

they should have parking spots just for lazy people.... put them closer than the handicap spots and see who has the balls to actually park there!

No doubt the same people that park in the Handicap spots without being handicapped or having the sticker/card.

It annoys me when people do that.

I have the same ideas concerning this.

Why the hell do people need to save themselves from walking an extra 100 feet if they are going to walk thousands of feet in the grocery store or mall??

It's DUMB!?!?!?!

I used to tell this to my fiance and she finally "Gets it" :)

5 spaces, yes lazy... but in a big mall parking lot that's perfectly acceptable. I'd rather wait 5 minutes in my A/C then walk 5 minuters in the heat.

Me too... now. Unfortunately, it's a little too late for my car doors. :( Door dings piss me off to no end.

ohtwell, I have to apologize to you. I had no idea you were a girl. I only read your posts and didn't see the Amanda or the clue in "girls kill". I only see one word at a time basically and read rather slow. Had I known I would have found some more round about way to congratulate you on your outstanding thoughtfulness, which I'm sorry to say would have been so even much more spectacular, had you in fact been male, like I had thought, it being, that is, so much more rare to find such a male. Anyway, had I known, like I say, I would not have been so overt in my praise because I know there are lots and lots of young studs like ELFenix here, who can't help but see women and girls much like they do parking spots, something you have to prepare to go to war for fear somebody is going to get it first. That is why he had to tell me this spot is taken. :D

So, it's not as stunning because I am a girl?

I'm afraid so, ohtwell, not as stunning, but still wonderful. It's only not as stunning because most guys are such jerks. You're still off the chart, but women?s baseline consideration of others is on the top of the normal page instead of the bottom. :D

Ugh that's the worst. People leaving their shopping carts especially in the freakin handicapped parking spots piss me off to no end. I suppose they may think that 'no one will park here so I can just leave it here', but maybe no one parks there because the cart is sitting in the parking spot and handicapped people sometimes can't get out of their cars to move them? Bleh.
