Twice in the last few days I've seen people in a parking lot waiting behind a parked car as the owners of that car load it up and leave, so that the person waiting will get the spot. Smart? No. Lazy! And here's why: Each and every time the person about to move their car has clearly had to load the car up first which the waiting person didn't mind doing and furthermore each time it was painfully clear that they had to drive about no more than 5 places to get to the end of the line and have all the spots they could use. So instead they wait at least a minute to save walking their fat ass 5 spots. God, only in America! :D

Negative. That's what shopping carts are for.

I do that too just to watch the contemptuous twisted up faces of the anally retentive as they cruise past unable just to get a parking place themselves and go about their business without minding everybody else's. (just kidding)

i hate having to wait in a parking lot when i'm trying to leave because i parked at the back of the lot and someone up front is sitting waiting for a space in the middle of the lane and i can't get around and i'm blocked in from behind.

I hope you mean that as in America the continent and not America the country since I have observed the exact same behavior in both Quebec and Ontario. ;) And generally yes I think it is a waste of time to circle or wait for a parking space if there are open spaces 6 spaces away from the one you are waiting on.

I always park at the back of the lot to save my car from those unscrupulous people who think that flinging open their car door without a care is a good idea.

It's not like I can't use the exercise anyways.

I don't do that because I feel like I'm pressuring the person to hurry and get their stuff in the car. I don't want to ruch someone just to take their spot.

I wouldn't call it laziness...I would equate it to finding the last item on sale, and buying it. It's not an issue of laziness; it's finding the best spot, even though there was one open five spots away.

you know that you're more likely to get keyed parking a flashy car at the back of the lot by itself... bastard keyers!

I also don't like the people that are too lazy to push their cart two feet into one of the cart racks so they leave it in a parking spot.

Lazy people!

agreed, this is another possibility if you park out at the end
ouch

i say park half to 3/4, and stay away from wide open area's, near a light post is good, people usually don't mess around w/ thier cars near poles....plus it's added protection if the retard comes from that direction...i once parked my car ON a snowbank on the edge of the parking lot at the mall one day rather than waiting for a spot to open up (day after thanksgiving)

Damn ohtwell, I wondered why some people just drive by with a smile when I'm loading. (Moonbeam attempts to make a mental note in his poor sieve of a brain that ohtwell might be an alien walk in, an old soul, a reincarnated lama, or maybe just an exceptionally fine regular old human being.

Good man, ohtwell, you made my day. It's just great to know there are people around that can give such wonderful simple gifts.

Oh man I just saw the 'carts post'. I take mine back too. :D

I saw an old man give sh!t to some guy at Target yesterday. The guy was sitting idling in his Bronco (I'm assuming his wife ran in to grab something) in front of the store where it's marked "No stopping. Fire Lane." Apparently, the old man didn't approve. :)

I smile at everyone. It's the southern in me. :)

I always take my cart back. :)

I also let people pull out of their spots even when I don't plan on taking it when they are out. :Q

I was letting a car out one day so that I could grab the place. As the man was pulling out an older couple pulled up behind me. Even though I had been patiently waiting on the spot I let the older couple have it.

Ditto. By the time you get the coveted "close in" spot via endless circling or camping on someone who appears to be leaving, you could have parked further away and walked into the store/theater/wherever you are.
