"Layer Cake" = worth renting.

Just watched this the other night. Kind of a Guy-Ritchie-esque british gangster flick, but slower-paced and a more serious tone overall.

Definitely worth adding to your Netflix queue.

Official site.

Well then I'll rent it.

Actually I saw it in Hollywood Video and wanted to rent it, just waiting for it to be available on the MVP.

I was expecting to see a plastic giant cake that a stripper fits into for a 'surprise' present for a b-day or bac. Party.

Is that by the guy that made Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and Snatch?
Nope, but it's kinda the same genre. Much less slapstick than those two movies tho.

I will check it out. I was wondering due to a comment that someone made on the forums stating that it was, but I hadn't been able to find anything to prove that.

Well, I liked it. What more do you need? 😛

Universally panned for being too convoluted to be a good substitute for "Lock, Stock"
It's not supposed to be. It's really not a comedy (although there are funny bits).

It got something like 80% of rottentomatoes, so I'd argue it wasn't universally panned either.

MVP?

Their Netflix-like rental plan (3 out at a time for $15 a month), it takes 4-6 weeks for the new releases to be available for free.

i liked it alot, reminded me of a blend of go, blow and the italian job.. its definitely worth the watch.. just thinking about it is gonna make me watch it tonight.. very smooth and nicely done, awesome soundtrack and plot twists. the main character is the man!!

Very very good movie. Also, if you've never seen David Craig before, he's going to be the next Bond, so you can get your first glimpse.

Layer Cake is DIRECTED by the guy who PRODUCED Snatch and L.S.&T.S.B..

This was his first time directing. Not bad for his first time out.

And Sienna Miller is FVCKING HOT in this movie!!!
