Is ATOT powerful enough to assist this family? We're all pretty much fed up with this, and this trial can actually be used as a posterchild for future frivolous lawsuits. I'm not entirely sure how much power (or lack thereof) we have to make any difference to punish the judge and help the family.. but just an idea to toss out there for now.

I mean who knows... we've all seen what large public internet communities are capable of. This thread is more of our commentary of a deplorable lawsuit. I wonder if we can turn out words into action?

I alone can't, but as a community, is it possible?

i'm not sure if that's sarcasm, or an actual battle cry... but if it is sarcastic, yes I also realize it is difficult from our stance to even do anything meaningful but just spread the word around.

If i lived in the same city as him I'd follow him around and pass pamphlets on what kind of guy he is at his church or social parties he goes to. Maybe even let every dry cleaners in the nation know the person who owns the pants they're cleaning.

Looks like the American Tort Reform Association has taken up the cause and it seems that they have a decent approach to the situation.

the story is also on digg, so it is circulating.

not sure what thousands to hundreds of thousands of angry internet users can do though :(.

I hope this turns out well for the family. As an immigrant nation, this is definitly not the image we'd want to project to the world.

What a piece of trash. This guy should be the butt of every frivilous law suit against him. From now on anything he says or does, somebody should sue him. Get like 200 people to file suits against him for stupid things. Can I sue him for raising my blood pressure b/c when I read this story I got angry? He probably took at least 1 day of my life away due to stress, and I figure my life is worth a lot. I'm sueing him for 1 million.....no, no...1 Beeeeellion dollars.

Thinking the same thing. Never though I'd get pissed over an article this much. This is why my grandfather doesn't want any of his children/grandchildren/etc to have anything to do with the legal system (esp. lawyers).

American Tort Reform offered to buy him a new suit. hahaha... he would not take $12k for a $1,500 suit, but he is gonna take a new suit?

Plus they wrote a letter to Judge Butler and Commissioners Rigsby, Levine and Wilner. I think he is sitting the bench anyway.

Surely there is something we can do. Who would we petition and what, in reality, could we hope for?

If someone wants to start a petition, i would sign it.
