I'm not taking sides with him, and he disgusts me too. I am, however, saying that we should NOT legislate morality for its own sake. In my opinion, for there to be a crime, there should be a victim.

If he killed this animal specifically for the purpose of having sex with the carcass, then that falls under cruelty to animals or some similar law. However, if he found an already dead carcass for his purpose, then there is no victim and there was no cruelty.

He should probably face a mandatory psych evaluation, and be sent to a mental health institution based on the results of that. But that's not the same thing as being convicted of a crime.

Considering I'm in an interracial relationship, I am most certainly not. I am saying that using whether or not someone thinks something is "gross" is a poor standard for laws and locking people up.

25 years ago people still tried to quote bible verses as reasons not to allow couples of other races to marry. Now they are doing it for the homosexuals. I am not saying people should be able to have relations with animals, but that something being "gross" is a very poor standard to use.

A lot of people say homosexuality is "gross" and they want gay marriage banned, and they quote similar bible verses that they used to use when it came to Interracial Marriage. The standard in our society should be whether or not someone else's rights are infringed upon, or if it harms someone. Neither interracial nor gay marriage harm anyone, and I dare say that fvcking a dead animal does either. It is silly to say that what you find sick or digusting should be the standard that society uses. Lots of people STILL have a problem with interracial marriage/relationships and gay marriage/relationships.

But I understand your point. The fact of the matter is that this guy did do this outside. But the behavior could escalate into even sicker and more harmful behavior. That is one of the reasons these laws are put into place. (of course one can argue that there are religious and personal ethics involved in this, but big picture it limits the "slide" to harmful behavior)

Sorry about that. I don't want to polarize the situation, but I am just pointing out that most laws have social reasons behind them (laws usually aren't based solely on ignorance but have some grain of truth in them <not all laws though> ).

Because the nature of laws and society, if a law is worthless, society will change the law.

I just find it funny how a person could see this man's behavior as unintrusive to society. He kills animals to have sex with them. Not only that, he does this in public. Of course the law has every right to try him and prosecute him.
