wow I just had the funniest conversation with a truely psychotic guy at d-link tech support. every time I would try to say something, the guy would just talking in a monotone at me about something usually unrelated to what I was telling him. even if I just kept talking, he'd keep talking. at first, he was telling me something that wasn't useful because he didn't let me finish telling him my problem. I kept saying "uh," "can I just say something" "no, see because..." but he would keep talking. eventually, I started letting him talk as long as he wanted even though it wasn't helpful to me, and then when he was finally silent, I would tell him what I needed to, but he would start talking again and ask me a completely unrelated question. I finally hung up.
I was impressed when I saw on the website that d-link has 24/7 toll free tech support, but maybe they're able to not pay their employess because the people they employ are so crazy and psycho that they don't know what they're doing.

LOL that's funny. I've called twice during business hours and gotten good support, however the "24/7" is kind of a joke. I called at 11PM on a saturday night and was on hold for an hour and a half before I hung up.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't make sense to have a full support staff in the evening time.

Reminds me of the time I changed my system components on my PC and had to call Microsoft because XP detected a new computer and wouldn't boot. Whenever the tech was waiting for his system to respond, he would ask me a religious question like, "Did you know Jesus saves?". I ignored it the first couple of times, but the third time, I told him I just wanted to get my PC fixed and didn't think he should be using Microsoft's tech support line for missionary work. He got all defensive and said, "I won't be ashamed of my faith". I said, "So don't be ashamed. I didn't suggest you should be. However, I am not ashamed of my faith either but I'm not here telling you there is something wrong with yours and that you should change."

Strangest tech call I ever made. It took about 20 minutes, but I finally got a key for XP.
