Lawnmower: 1 My Cable/Internet: 0

I'm actually suprised it lasted this long, it was installed 5 weeks ago.

A couple of weeks ago the grass was very long after a week of rain.
I live at an apartment complex whose grass is cut by riding lawnmowers.
Guess they finally got the cable yesterday afternoon. I took the picture when I got home from work.

They seemed to have reconnected us this morning, hopefully burying the line this time.

The house I grew up in was part of a development, and for whatever reason the cable lines were run along back of the property line along a creek bed, splitting off to run up the hill to each house. My parents had a garden, and accidentally chopped through the cable line while digging one day, probably mistook it for a root 🙂 No cable for us.

The guy who set us up told us he put in an order to have it buried, that it may take a week or two. This time they should be burying it when they set it up.

it's not in their job description to bury the cable. They don't care as long as you have internet/tv

edit: well at least for phone guys in kentucky it's not. I worked at lots of houses where the phone cable was just strung across their front lawn

remind me never to move to kentucky. At least they have phones these days and it's no longer just yelling off the back porch 'hey sis! No the other one....my wife!'.

I've been waiting 4 months for charter to come out and bury the line from my apartment.
Luckily its bright orange and so far the guys that mow the lawn here have been kind enough to move it and hold it up and mow under it.

Charters response, " we don't handle the burying of the lines, thats a separate contractor"

I had this happen with cable TV way back when.

I mowed all summer long, removing the line from the side of the house, rolling it up and placing it in the woods.

All the while the cable company (Adelphia if I remember correctly) gave me promise after promise to come out and bury it.

Finally in the fall I'd had enough. I disconnected the line, rolled it up and threw it in the woods. I mailed back their set-top box as their office was over an hour away.

Next spring I come home to a bunch of flags in the yard. I call to find out what they're there for and find that the cable company has requested that the utilities be marked. What a bunch of losers. At that point I'd been without cable for about 6 months.

You can only hurt them in their wallets. They don't much seem to care though.
