Lawn Mower: My Sears rear wheel driver mower: Rear wheels won't go backwards

This was their Caddy model. When I try to pull it back the rear wheels won't turn. The drive mechanism is the rear wheels not the front. What is wrong and how much to fix? It seems like some sort of drive shaft problem. yes, I let the controls free when I try to back it up.

Ack.. I think I have the same one.. This one?

Still under warranty?

Maybe the drive mechanism isn't disengaging...

Never really understood those push lawnmowers that roll themselves..


If your yard is too big for a normal push mower.. why not get a riding mower ?

It is a similar model. The warranty expired in June 2002. I just got an offer from sears to extend the warranty for $68. I will bring it in and see how much is the repair and decide on the warranty while they have (ho-ho).

Glue? My horses run faster than me, senor.....

Hrrmm..

Makes me want to get the ext. warranty too.. Damn thing cost me too much to break down..

Not the CADILLAC is the Cub Cadet with the swivel front wheels and RWD...
