Lawn mower gas leak

Hey :)

My lawn mower is leaking. I put some gas in it and that thing just kept on flowing out of the prime button (the squishy button, normally red, that you have to push a few times).

First, what is wrong with the mower? It's brand new.

Second, how do I fix it?

I just about inhaled half-a-gallon of gas fumes. Tsk.

Does it look like the button was not put together correctly? It should not leak at all from there.

At least not on a new mower. They can degrade and break over time, but if a new mower is leaking there it's definitely defective.

Contact whoever you bought the mower from. That's deficient, and they should replace the mower immediately.

Otherwise, they should repair it under warranty with no arguments.

Damn, I think the warranty passed. It's actually my aunt's mower that she got two years ago. But since the mower was only used 10 times, it's practically almost brand new. The rest of the time she has a lawn service come out to mow her lawn. How much do you think it'll cost for repairs? I'm going to start looking for lawn mower repair places unless I can do a DIY deal.

I replaced the bulb on my Craftsman a couple of years ago...parts were less than $10. Took about 10 -15 minutes MAX, so I wouldn't think it would cost much more that $25 if you took it to a shop.
