Lawmaker Wants Teachers In Hawaii Weighed For Obesity

State Rep. Rida Cabanilla introduced a resolution in the house requesting that the Board of Education establish an obesity database among public schoolteachers.

"You cannot keep a kid to a certain standard that you yourself is not willing to keep," Cabanilla said.

"As a matter of fact, we should start at home, but since the legislature has no way to regulate homes, we can at least start in school," Cabanilla said. "And teachers have a lot of impact to these students."

I am absolutely astounded by this. The idea of teachers needing to not be fat to have the job is pretty amazing, but to suggest parents need to be as well? What would they do? Take the kids away from people that are overweight? Lock them up in "diet prison" until they meet state weight requirements?

Sorry, but I don't think people who think like this belong in office in this country.

Yeah, that will go over well. Especially considering alot of Polynesians are genetically big boned. Trying to make everyone look like little skinny Haolies.

That statement coming from a lawmaker??? I guess they are begining to believe their own lies.
