Law on marriage age?

What's the law on the youngest age a person can marry? (In U.S.) I'm not sure if there is an actual federal law.

16 i think.. but it varies by local laws.

All you need is parental consent in most states, I think. It was 18 in FL but I wanted to get married at 17 ( I had just turned 17,too) so...

My parents signed the forms for me when I was 17--- they knew I was dead set on getting married so they figured they might as well work with my rebellious, headstrong little arse.

Okay, I guess it's dependent on the state then. I wasn't sure if it was 16 or 18.

I had posted information based on outdated information I knew. On net I found that several states, such as Mississippi where the age of consent had been 12, have changed their laws in the last few years so that now the youngest age of consent in the US is apparently 14 -- according to what I found.
