i recived a letter today for a speeding ticket i wanted to appeal

it states

this matter having come on regularly before the undersigned judge of the above court on the motion of: (marked plaintiff)

to dismiss appeal for want of prosecution

AND THE COURT having considered the records and files herein and being fully advised;

Now therefore

It is hereby ordered this appeal is hereby dismissed

what does this all mean?

I'm no lawyer either, but if your appeal was dismissed, I believe it means you didn't win the appeal.

Well I'll be going to law school next year. But it sounds like the appeal was declined.

I think it means your appeal was dismissed...your still responsible to pay the fine of the ticket.

we the full story here is

i hired a lawyer for my traffic ticket

the lawyer got all the evidence (laser) thrown out but the judge did not care and still ordered that ticket be stayed on the record.

the lawyer i hired was really mad because basically there was no more evidence and the judge jsut took the word of the what the officer wrote

he told me he would help me appeal but i had to pay for money to get the paper work filed

so i recieved this letter becausing i am appealing the judges decision.

i dunno whats going on because i havent heard from my lawyer at all this whole time
