They work fine but the battery pack is undersized, IMHO. If the phone if left off the base for 1 day, don't expect to have any long conversations till it's charged again. Mine are the translucent blue model, in which you can see a ton of empty space. I was thinking of dremeling-out the upper partition in the battery compartment and putting 3 pcs. x 4/3 "a" size NiMH 4000mAh (often found in older notebooks, for example HP Omnibook) batteries in it.
More expensive Vtech phones come with much larger, modular 3 x AA(?) battery packs.
Yes, I agree. Vtech phones work fine, but their batteries are really bad, not to mention expensive. I know, I know, just buy a new phone instead.
I have an old translucent green model and the battery only holds a charge for 2-3 days max. And after about a year, maybe even less, the battery can hardly hold a charge. I've already changed the battery twice. Meanwhile my Panasonic can hold a charge for at least a full week.
But in any case, for $3 it's a good deal. They (900 MHz phones) come in real handy, especially when you have a wireless network set up. No interference since they're not sharing the same 2.4 GHz frequency.
