Launching Word 2000 attachments from Outlook 2000

When i double click on a Word attacment within an Outlook message i get the following error message "The document name or path is not valid...". If i save the file to disk first and then access it through Word 2000 it is ok. I seem to be ok for other files, for example i can launch Lotus 123 from an attachment within Outlook. I have tried re-installing Office 2000 but it has not fixed the problem.

Has anyone got anything else i can try ?
