I have windows XP Pro SP2. On my previous installation afteri turned on my computer it would load straight into windows. How can i get rid of the welcom screen and launch straight into windows? I am the only user on my computer and there are no other accounts. Right now when i load it has a welcome screen and i'm the only icon.

I've search the control panel and user accounts options. I've checked and uncheck the welcome screen option, all that does is load me ino the old way of typing in a password.

I have the same problem and I have seen the answer on the forums before. Sorry, but I don't know how to undo it.

You can download a program called TweakUI from Microsoft that will allow you to auto-login with a particular username.

type "control userpasswords2" and fix it there.... you should also uncheck "Use Welcome Screen" under the user accounts in the control panel

Thanks, That worked just great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those that didn't know. You have to click on START and then RUN and type it in there.
