Laughing gas

Have some pretty major dentistry work coming up... Dentist reccomends that he use laughing gas (nitrous) on me during the procedure.

Has anyone had this done? Can you explain what it's like?

Can you feel anything? remember it? Does it knock you right out, or put you to sleep?

Tell me about it... 🙂

just remember to check to see if your shirt is tucked or untucked

lets see - when I had my wisdom teeth out they used it and all I remember was the doc saying "now this is known as laughing gas but don't laugh too much 'cause it makes it hard to work!" 😛 But I also had some other drug they gave me that basically wacked me out anyways. I think what they said it does is just help relax you and make you not care much whats going on

LOL captains

when i had my wizzies yanked, they gave me the nitrous AND an injection. i was out within three minutes so i didn't get to enjoy the buzz much. but when i woke up in the recovery room and went out to the car with my wife, i asked her how much snow we had got. this was in July.

ROTFL!!!!

Okay... seriously guys... Dentist work has always been a pain with me, when I was 10 I fell down and smashed my two front teeth out... so you can imagine...

I really want to know what it's like, or what you remember, etc... not to watch out for my bum... 🙂

haha you said "pain in the butt".

I'm getting my 4 wisdom toofuses out myself next month. Can't wait. /sarcasm

They gave me the max dose and it didnt affect me at all. So I had to go to a different dentist to put me under so they could finish the procedure.

I had it once and I don't really remember anything that happened afterwards...I giggled for awhile and remember the smell of burning flesh but that's about it. My butt was pain free afterwards too..thank god i'm not cute.

Yeah... I'm having 4 wisdom teeth out, as well as the 4 that sit up against my wisdom teeth.

So 8 teeth total at one time...

I had it once, when I was about 12. I'm horrible about needles, and they gave me the gas before they did the local. I could tell that this GIANT needle was being jammed into my mouth, and I could see it, but I just didn't care. It was pretty cool.

Laughing gas is the way to go. Doesn't help with pain that much, for me anyway. Just makes you feel like you are floating. It's pretty cool.

When they did my wisdom teeth, they put me under. It's a good thing they did, since they had to spend well over an hour breaking the bottom teeth into little pieces. If I'd been anywhere near awake for that I probably would have freaked out.
