Latest trend? (Bad post is bad?)

For some reason when I see these type of sentences they irritate me, but I don't know why.

Heck, I don't even know the point of them or why people have started using this syntax. Can anyone explain this latest bit of forum posting crazyness?

Edit for typo

It's meant to point out the obvious, like the original post can be viewed as a failure (fail post is fail). Another example since you're a newbie (an abbreviation could be 'newb'), Noob post is noob.

Notice the intentional misspelling. This is an inflection of style from the poster to show that since they are a lifer they don't even have to use proper etiquette or spelling as post count is much more critical.

I've learned internet forums are a strange creature, and if you don't get a current meme you can usually just google it. It prevents one from looking like a dumbass

Hahah, ouch. I'm by no means new to forums but I have ignored this dumb trend long enough and decided to end my curiousity. I could google it but the responses here are far more entertaining.

The question is, what makes you look like more of a dumbass, not knowing a current meme, or knowing a current meme?

Knowing the current meme probably just means you spend way too much time on the internet.
