I'm posting this not to promote but to highlight how that right wing media cesspool operates. Monday at the gym while on the treadmill saw this bullshit conspiracy on Fox News. We are captive there sine only 3 channels on the TV sports, CNN and Fox. (sounds like a management decision)

FTX a crypto company is going bankrupt. People lost a lot of money. Before that happened FTX setup a website for donations to Ukraine. The CEO of FTX Sam Bankman-Fried donated money to Democrats in the midterms. FTX goes bankrupt and now the right wing is using those events to accused Democrats of money laundering money through Ukraine to get themselves elected. Here is their claim
FTX was a MASSIVE MONEY LAUNDERING OPERATION with Ties to the “Pandemic” | Don't Speak News (dontspeaknews.com)

Fox News on tv and their websites promoting the money laundering conspiracy.

More main stream media sources attempting to put a lid on this bullshit money laundering rumor
Why The Theory That Sam Bankman-Fried Laundered Ukraine Aid Makes No Sense (forbes.com)

PS - The reasons for the bankruptcy are some of the crypto lost their value and Fried misappropriated incoming funds to prop up losses

You'll hear right wingers repeating this soon enough, they love to eat up conspiracy bs from Fox. Go look at any story about Paul Pelosi and the comments are filled with morons repeating BS conspiracy claims about them being gay lovers and wanting the body cam/security footage.

It’s six degrees of Kevin Bacon. Find something bad find links from people involved to a liberal or liberal cause.

Blame bad thing on liberal. Extra links automatically make it a conspiracy.

Rinse & repeat.

Its just more projection. Guarantee you that Republicans have been laundering money via crypto. We know Russia was big time, we know North Korea is. This was known from the get go that crypto was just a scam to enable the shittiest pieces of shit on the planet to clean their money. And yet we had jackass after jackass on here proclaim that it would solve all of societies' ills. Crypto is the NFT version of Turmp, full of shit but somehow managed to dupe idiots into believing that it would fix something it explicitly openly constantly told them it would make worse and then they cheered and threw money at it. Then they got mad after realizing they didn't get duped. They chose to be stupid.

Remember Maria Butina? She was found guilty in court laundering Russian money through the NRA

Which I am sure my trusted sources (at Fox News Primetime Lineup) will uncover that the NRA was actually infiltrated by Democrats to do terrible things. Oh, and why shouldn't they give money to our friend Russia? It's the cost of peace to buy off a few Russians, and maybe sacrifice a few countries. You should embrace the laundering and the Genocide! But the Democrats did it anyway! /s

This is so pervasive now Gateway Pundit is promoting it.

It's completely fictional. But fuck facts, right?

Notice how they always manage to rope Ukraine into it.
Killing Ukraine and being pro Russia is the core tenant of GOP foreign policy.

I have a question, if Dominion can sue Fox over their claim about voting machines can't the Democratic Party sue Fox for the money laundering accusation??

Right-wing extremism is essentially confirmation bias gone wild.

That's got Fox all in a frenzy. It's humorous to watch. Still pounding crime, and the border also. Never change Fox.

Same avenue as the FTX deal "Follow the money" - something about donating max amount to Pelosi. Also Fox.
This is where the Alex Jones trial should come in play.

Meanwhile....

Two anonymous $425 million donations give dark money conservative group a massive haul - POLITICO

The money raised in 2021 dwarfed previous yearly totals by hundreds of millions of dollars. In 2020, the group brought in about $360 million in total revenue. The ability to keep donor identities private has made groups like DonorsTrust an increasingly utilized vehicle for political-minded givers on both sides of the aisle.

Michael Beckel, research director for the political reform advocacy organization Issue One, likened such an organization as an “ATM for dark money groups.”

“Groups like DonorsTrust are becoming increasingly part of the equation of how money from special interests and wealthy Americans ends up in the coffers of dark money groups,” he said. “Voters are kept in the dark about the true source of the funds involved.”

They're desperate. They can't explain why the Red Wave flopped. They can't explain why Turmp's wet fart didn't incite the Sturm. Same reason they've been trotting out the same old shit for years now. Hunter Biden's laptop, etc.

Don't forget, they legit believe that Russia invaded Ukraine to destroy US bioweapon labs/factories. And these are people that demand fealty to the US. But they're ok with Russia (whom most of these idiots grew up demonizing) attacking US stuff? Logic, let alone evidence/proof is not something required for their media.

Yes. If I've learned one thing from watching enough LegalEagle, it's that anybody can sue anyone for anything at any time. On the other hand, proving defamation isn't always the easiest task.

Yes, defaming a public figure is actually pretty difficult to do as the standard for public figures is that you either knew at the time your statements were false or that you showed reckless disregard for their truth or falsity.

Dominion has been successful because there is/was at the time a huge volume of information indicating the statements about Dominion were false along with (if memory serves) internal discussions where people were like ‘I don’t know about this…’ so it’s not that hard to prove. You rarely get lies this obvious or well documented though.

I think that's one reason why Fox News tends to be a bit slimy when they talk about things. I could just imagine Tucker talking about this using lots of vagueries like "A report suggests..." or "It's possible that they did..." They essentially love truly saying nothing while suggesting as much as possible, and of course, it's usually taken as gospel.

If it is difficult to defame a public figure how about putting on the air a rumor Jessie Watters (show where Fox said Dems are money laundering) touches strange kids on playgrounds. Each should have equal chances of a suit. Use the word rumor just like Fox

It is easy for the insane to make things up. To see images in their soup. To hear voices. This is why Fox news is so good at it, and why the Q's are so good at it, and why MAGA is too good at it.

The dems, the libs, they are not so good at making shit up because... they are not insane.

While Dems are trying to govern GOP is dancing to the tune of Fox News. How do you fight that?

Should all of them just be ignored? Rally all the Dems, grab the independents and just fuck them?

What are the other options?

Humans don't give two fucks about facts. We want feels!
Humans who have been made to feel bad want somebody to tell them they are OK. The fact is that humans don't have to hate themselves but healing requires feeling how much pain one has been made to feel. Some will run from truth but others will dive inward because they are intensely curious or simply can't successfully repress the pain. Every human was born as a learning machine and that is a giant threat to the masses of people who have been put to sleep. People don't give two fucks if they have no idea what that sleep costs them or have never met anybody who isn't like them.
