Latest right wing kook conspiracy theory, the FBI orchestrated the Jan 6 insurrection.

I saw this the other day, and its the usual way of them taking a shred of evidence that federal law enforcement agencies were quite aware of the gathering and that it was basically guaranteed to end up in a violent encounter and did seemingly nothing to prevent it, and then twisted that into that the FBI coerced the right wing nut jobs into committing their treasonous act. But of course they ignore that the Turmp administration actively interfered with any attempt to deal with things and so there were likely orders or intentional not responding to requests to act from the FBI by Turmp's administration to prevent them from doing anything to prevent what happened.

So, we should be investigating how much the FBI was compromised by either active interference or orders to not act to prevent or alert other agencies that should have been alerted and could have acted prior, and also how much they were compromised by being hamstrung by right wingers screaming about persecution by the FBI (much like how the DoJ and IRS backed off investigating right wing political money despite evidence that there was rampant corruption and crimes being committed in the process, as well as similar screams from Turmp about the FBI investigations into the 2016 election and specifically his and other Republicans' involvement with Russian operatives).

They don't have "beliefs", they are simply spoon fed.
Belief would imply agency, and by all measure all they appear to do is play follow the leader.
Have the radical right "news" media gone overboard? I think we can agree that it has.. I think we can also agree that the spoon feeding will not stop until it is dealt with. So. How to deal with it?

The Republicans are workshopping some new talking points……blaming the Capitol Police and DC mayor Muriel Bowser and insinuating that there was some sort of collusion between the Capitol Police, the FBI and Democrats. The new narrative of the week is that Democrats realized that Trump supporters would riot if you made it really easy for them, by failing to provide a show of force the Democrats made the insurrectionists try to overthrow the government because it would make Trump look bad. It’s all part of their continued persecution of Trump. Remember: conservatives are always the real victim. It's like, “That jewelry display was so nice - you made me smash the window and steal it” type reasoning. There is no bizarre reimagining of recent history that Congressional Republicans will not stoop to if it means keeping The Orange One happy and to avoiding being primaried.

This is exactly why repubs don’t want to have hearing on the insurrection, this way they can muddy the waters with their insane conspiracy theories.

It also looks like during Tuesday’s house committee hearing, they are now pivoting away from “the media made a big deal out of a totally peaceful protest” narrative. The Capitol Police are going to end up being the biggest villain now. They’ve been pissing off Republicans by continuing to talk about their dead and injured officers and saying the insurrection attempt was bad for democracy.

Chris Wray pissed off a GOP Congressman by refusing to agree that the FBI was a totally corrupt organization dedicated to the persecution of Republicans.

The crux of the new conspiracy theory is that the Democrats, Capitol Police and possibly the FBI colluded to leave the Capitol unprotected. It’s the attractive nuisance theory, you know how if you leave your swimming pool ungaurded, insufficiently secured you might be blamed if a kid jumps in and gets hurt because the pool is an “attractive nuisance”? I guess if you leave the Capitol insufficiently secured when Republicans are nearby, you are responsible because an unexecuted Mike Pence is an attractive nuisance.

If protection of the Capitol was inadequate it's because nobody believed Trump would go so far as to stage an insurrection, which is exactly what happened. Just because it was the worst coup attempt ever doesn't make it any less real.
